Gold Event

A general overview of the Gold Event along with several suggestions for each day.

This page contains all you need to know about the Gold event - an event which occurs every 2 weeks and last for 7 days, from Monday 00:00:00 to Sunday 23:59:59 UCT. There are many suggestions, tricks and things which each of one can do to be as higher as possible on the rankings, both for each day and in general. This page will not focus on descriptive information but on tactics and strategies.

Each Gold event consists of 5 stages:
1. Gathering (1 day)
2. Building and Research upgrade (1 day)
3. Monsters (1 day)
4. Troops training (1 day)
5. Kill event (3 days)

Each event has 3 basic rewards which are collected after you hit a certain amount of points. It is important to say that points required for each basic reward depends on your stronghold level - the higher the stronghold, the higher requirements are set. While the first two basic rewards are equal for everyone, the last, third one, depends on the stronghold level as well and it contains gold.

On top of that, each stage offers rewards based on rankings - top 10, 11-30, 31-50 and 51-100. These stage rewards consist of gold, resources, and consumables such as mana potions and speed-ups. Also, there is a "global" overall ranking for each gold event which sums up all points and secures excellent rewards for the best players. For instance, rank 1 secures 10k golds, 50x 1h speedups, small lords and medium dragon EXP, etc. As you can see, rewards are very interesting and, therefore, you should do as much as you can to secure your place in the top 100.

If you want to know about certain rewards, points requirements for each stage and how much points you can get by doing certain things like gathering wood/food/iron, killing monsters level 10 or level 20, killing t1 or t8 troops, producing t1 or t8 troops and upgrading "power points" of your city, visit the Gold Event section in the game (Event Center icon -> Gold event).

Gathering stage (1 day)

As the name of this stage says, it is all about gathering resources in the kingdom. It is very important to evaluate your account while keeping in mind that it makes no difference if you gather in the alliance resource building or in tiles. There are a couple of things to put a focus on while in the gathering stage:

  • Put your gathering equipment - you do not have to have it equipped all the time. Just make sure that you have it active while your troops do not arrive in the alliance resource building or in tiles. After they arrive, you can change the gear and use war or any other gear (depends on the situation)
  • Prepare your dragon - a radiant prime character (yellow color) of your dragon increase the gathering speed of your troops, while guardian skills increase troop load and gathering speed. Always put your highest dragon skills for gathering and troop load
    • It is recommended to send your dragon to gather in the alliance resource building since dragon's gathering skills stack with the increased gathering speed and troop load from the alliance resource building
    • since it is faster to collect food and wood, evaluate if it is more feasible for you (in terms of points) to collect those resource or to focus on iron and silver. The reason for that lays down in the fact that it is cheaper to increase the dragon's skills for gathering food and wood.
  • Equip adequate heroes which increase your gathering speed
    • Sir Gareth (Prowess 2 - iron gathering speed +30% and Prowess 5 - silver gathering speed +60%)
    • Elyan the White (basic Prowess level 1 - gathering speed +0.5%)
    • Sir Pelleas (Prowess 3 - food gathering speed +36% and Prowess 4 - iron gathering speed +45%)
    • Lady Cerys (Prowess 4 - resource gathering speed +23%)
    • Prince Claudin (Prowess 2 - wood gathering speed +25% and Prowess 3 - food gathering speed +33%)
  • Activate gathering speed bonus (Consumable item) - there are consumables which increase the gathering speed of your troops for several hours (i.e. 8h or 24h).
  • Points are collected as soon as troops leave the alliance resource building or tiles so you do not have to recall them until the very end of the gathering stage
  • Send your troops to gather earlier than the event starts. In that way, you will be able to finish your first round of gathering as soon as the event starts and get a slight boost. My advice is to put troops with the highest load in the alliance building before the event starts so you can get a massive boost - but be careful - make sure they do not come back before the gathering stage starts.
  • All troops have the same gathering speed!
  • If you are gathering resource in tiles, do not recall before you drained all resources because that tile will still wait for you or your alliance member. It will not disappear until all resources are not gathered.
  • Bookmark tiles and the alliance resource building so you do not spend any time searching for an empty spot.
2. Buildings and research upgrade ("Power points") stage

As the name of this stage indicates, this is all about increasing your Lord power through upgrades of buildings and through researches in the University. There is no that much to write about this stage, but there are several suggestions:
  • Time your stronghold upgrade to end during this event since it brings the most points to your Lord. In other words, time all of your upgrades to finish during this event. The best would be if you could time it to end as soon as the "Power point" stage starts so you can time for other upgrades as well
  • Put adequate equipment - there are certain pieces of equipment which lower necessary time of upgrades and researches
  • Use construction speed-ups if you want and if you have those
  • You can buy temporary relics which increase the upgrade/research speed
  • You can change your Lord talents and raise the Economy talent tier - there is a Development talent which gives 20% reduced constructions and upgrades time for 5 minutes (24hrs cooldown).
  • Upgrade/research wisely - evaluate which upgrades have the shortest upgrade time, but bring the highest points
  • Equip adequate heroes for reduction of upgrade/research time
    • Hellawes - basic Prowess level 1 - research speed +0.50% and Prowess 4 - construction speed +27.5%
    • Morgouse - basic Prowess level 1 - construction speed +0.50% and Prowess 3 - research speed +20%
    • Sir Gaheris - basic Prowess level 1 - research speed +0.45% and Prowess 4 - construction speed +23%
    • Lady Rhona - Prowess 3 - construction speed +17%
  • You can put also heroes which lowers the resource needed for upgrades/researches
3. Monster Kill stage (1 day)

This stage is all about monsters in the kingdom map. The higher the level of the monster killed, the more points you get.
  • Make sure you have full stamina bar when the event starts
  • Kill the strongest monster you can kill
  • Use consumable boosts if needed such as attack boosts and march boosts
  • Save up stamina refills
  • Activate VIP if you can. It gives you increased stamina recovery
  • Use adequate dragon's skills for monsters which increase your stats
  • If you can, you should change your Lord's talents - in the Balance talent tree, there is a Monster stamina talent which can be activated to reduce stamina consumption by 20% for 10 minutes (24hrs cooldown)
  • Bookmark monsters in advance so you save time which will be used for stamina recovery later
4. Troop training stage (1 day)

In this stage, you earn points by training troops in all four troop production units - barracks, stables, range and siege workshop. Points vary on troop tier that you will train - the higher the tier of troops, the more points you get.
  • Points are obtained when the troops are collected (by clicking on the pop-up icon above the troop production unit). That means that you can put your troops in the training before this stage so you can collect them as soon as this stage starts.
  • You can gather more points by training lower tier troops as the full t8 training lasts for the majority of the day, while full t1 training lasts significantly less. It is up to you to calculate this and to choose which path to follow.
  • Focus on the troops you need the most - do not produce troops just to collect points because you will end up with unequal distribution of your marches - i.e. 10k infantry and 50k bowmen.
  • You can buy temporary relic for the increase in the troop training speed
  • Use training speed-ups (and regular speed-ups) if you want
  • Use appropriate heroes which increase troop training speed and training capacity:
    • Hellawes - Prowess 5 - troop training speed +66%
    • Sir Gawain - Prowess 2 - training capacity +300
    • Morgause - Prowess 5 - troop training speed +60%
    • Lady Isobel - basic Prowess level 1 - training capacity +9
5. Kill event (3 days)

There is not much to say about this event as you already know what it means. You aim for the enemies and you kill their troops while looting their resources. Again, the higher tier troops you kill, the more points you get. There is no special advice for this stage, but here are some of my thoughts:

  • In 99% you will have to teleport to someone's hive so scout as much as you can before you go
  • If you go outside the hive, use antiscout and be careful
  • Use your battle equipment
  • Use approrpiate heros for battling - there is no an ideal combination since it depends on your marches, on available heros, etc. - it is explained in another topic by Hale
  • You can activate consumable boosts such as attack/defence boots and march boosts
  • You can buy temporary relics which increase your troops' stats
  • You get points by defending as well so, if your allies will not go outside of the hive, talk with them and as for reinforcement - keep in mind that they should have enough to defend themselves in case someone attacks them
  • Use war Lord talents

If you have any suggestions, feel free to contact me so I can edit the text. Good luck and have fun.
